Robert Fullerton, Westminster, South Carolina, to a cousin in Ireland, 23 April 1879
Description
Fullerton requests information on conditions in Ireland. He comments on the government of the United States as being "one of the most corrupt on the inhabited globe," and predicted that a century would be required to restore the government. He also expressed his gratification "that Protestantism is still rising in the ascendency above Popery."
