James Cassidy Letter
Title
James Cassidy, Matawan, Monmouth County, New Jersey, to his wife, c. Naas, County Kildare, 18 June 1871
Description
Arnold Schrier Collection. Schrier noted that Cassidy's wife and their two children lived on a small farm near Naas. Cassidy was a farm laborer who emigrated in 1871, got a job as a farm laborer in New Jersey, and intended sending for his family. But after April, 1872, he seems to have disappeared, leaving his family unsent for in Ireland.
