Reverend William Stavely Letters
Title
Mary Adams, Monticello, near Charleston, South Carolina, to her sister, Jane Stavely, Ballymoney, County Antrim, 18 May 1818
Description
She reports that she wants to see her recently-arrived cousin, Mary Ann Cathcart, but Mrs. Bones won't allow her to do so. New schools in the neighborhood have taken away some of her students. Describes a lavish wedding between one of the Bones boys and the daughter of another affluent family. Notes recent fatalities because of yellow fever, and that Ann Adams (her sister?) is "delicate."
