Reverend William Stavely Letters
Title
Mary Ann Cathcart, Rocky Creek, near Winnsborough, South Carolina, to Mrs. William J. Stavely, Corkey, Loughguile parish, near Ballymoney, County Antrim, 18 February 1818
Description
She describes her long, unpleasant voyage of 75 days, after which she and her family encountered fever in Charlestown and difficulty in traveling to her mother and siblings in Winnsborough. Her brother Robert has purchased a farm at Rocky CreeK for her father and family. Clearly, the Cathcart and Bones families are estranged, but the reasons are unclear. [Rocky Creek appears now on maps as just a stream].
