David Moore, Society Hill, Union Factory, Darlington Co., South Carolina, to Margaret Robinson, Charleston, South Carolina, 10 November 1817
Description
Margaret Robinson, perhaps David Moore's fiancee, has just arrived in Charleston from Belfast. Urges her to leave disease-ridden Charleston and come west to Society Hill, in the South Carolina uplands, where the climate was healthier. More on Moore's occupation in the cotton factory, where he expected an annual salary of $500. Reports that his brother, Thomas, was still working in Georgetown.
