Title
John Lough, Larne town {and parish}, Glenarm Upper barony, County Antrim, to his brother-in-law, Thomas Moore, Baltimore, Maryland, 31 July 1817
Description
Long and interesting letter. Assumes that David Moore will have arrived in Baltimore by now. Lough provides much information about other relatives, friends, etc., who have emigrated or are in the process of doing so. He also remarks on Thomas Moore's apparent moral and religious reformation in America. Lough laments that it has proven Impossible to collect Moore's money from his debtors. Economic depression continues: falling prices and land values.
