Abraham Patterson Letter
Title
Abraham Patterson, Gallia Furnace, Ohio, to William Hunter, Stewartstown, County Tyrone, 10 July 1852
Description
Abraham Patterson writes to his friend in Co. Tyrone to quash a local 'vile rumour' by a McDonald woman who claimed he was the father of her child (and a Thomas Campbell being the father of the other). Stating he had nothing to do with the woman, he is thankful to be far from Stewartstown where the local gossip can do him no harm and he is very successful in an iron furnace business. He concludes with news of weather, acquaintances and sends his regards home.
