Title
A. Young to her sister Sally, 18 Novermber 1849
Description
Sally's sister A. Young replies to her with news of her family life since they moved from home to America with her husband (a doctor) and children. The doctor's poor pay is supplmented by renting out rooms on their first floor to a gentleman and his wife, and another room to a single gentleman who sleeps with her boys. She enquires of family news and says that despite her loneliness of home, they are healthy and happy. [No addresses included in the transcript but the mention of Balloughton (townland) suggests a Co. Wexford home location. The mention of a friend intending to visit them on his way from New York to Cleveland also suggests a location in New York State for the writer's home, i.e. along a route via Albany and Buffalo].
