[See another letter written by John Caldwell in 'Simms Letters' series using archival record ID: p155/108/14.] Caldwell refers dejectedly to the distrubances in the countryside caused by "bandetti" known as "the Hearts of Steel" with "Whiteboys" elsewhere in the province and wishes he could emigrate also.
