Robert Brown Letters
Title
Robert Brown, Strabane, County Tyrone, to his sister Margaret Brown Hill and her husband James Hill, Buffalo Township, Pennyslvania, 18 December 1842
Description
The author writes to his sister giving news of family and the locality. He is thankful of his prosperity with the fall in home produced commodity prices due to the removal of import duties. He details the decline in the linen trade and that unemployed poor people are increasingly setting potatoes, but claims they have better clothing and condition than ever. [Buffalo township now divided into North and South divisions, which makes the Hill's exact location uncertain}
