Thomas Reilly Letters
Title
George Reilly, 13 Earl Street, Dublin, to John M. Kelly, 70 Meath street, Dublin, 25 March [1846]
Description
Responding to Kellys' earlier letter in a gradiose, if sometimes mocking, style "'Tis a pleasure to see genius bursting forth in the dullest sense", George Reilly admonishes the latter that if he knew Irish history, "the maxim of English Jurisprudence to consider every man innocent until he is found guilty I have never heard a grosser assertion [...] the innocent [underlined] were chiefly made the victims of the Jurisprudence you speak of [...]". Reilly then discusses their legal dispute over a mearing wall dividing their properties.
