M. Sexton Letter
Title
Maurice Sexton, Boston, to his brothers and sisters, [Killeen, Donoughmore, County Cork], 24 November 1861
Description
Maurice Sexton writes home to his family that the civil war is ruining most working people in America, without the prospect of peace. He gives his opinon on the outcome of hostilities and whether England or France will interfere. He sees reports of an impending famine in Ireland and gives news of other family in Boston. He is worried of threatened conscription for himself considering his age but that his prospects in Ireland would also be bleak if he returned.
