James Norris (University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta) to his cousin (Mary?) Norris, Ireland, 10 November [1938]
Description
Fr James Norris writes to his cousin mid-way through his one year at Edmonton University. He relates some onservations on Canada and life in the university. He concludes by sending his regards to her and to widows Bid and Kate (his cousins) which makes it likely he is addressing their sister Mary. [This is a partial letter, whom Kerby Miller believed to be addressed to James' cousin Mary Norris, (who had apparently lived at Dungarvan) but the writer signs off twice with the latter apparently addressed to a wife of a Norris man, "I do hope she and you haven't too much trouble with your husbands! you know 'all the Norrises drank'", which suggests two partial letters have been placed together].
