Title
Maria O'Brien, Madison, Wisconsin, to her cousin, Richard Lalor, Tinakill, Queen' s County, 26 June 1865
Description
Mostly family news. Maria reports that William Lalor's eldest son, Patrick Edwin, "a wild boy," had died of wounds suffered in the battle of Vicksburg. Her two sisters had been widowed by the Civil War; it appears they lived in Tennessee and that their husbands had fought for the Confederacy. More criticism of the Fox family: their eldest son, George Fox, was studying for the ministry in the local university.
