John [brother] and James Smyth [father], Moycraig, County Antrim, to Robert Smyth, Lombord Street and 12th Street, Philadelphia, to the care of Mr William Smyth, 30 June 1839
Description
James Smyth writes to his son Robert that they also had written more letters than he apparently received but that the family are in good health and grateful he had not forgotten them. Robert's brother John also advises he is coming out to him soon as he earns the money, "for tread is nearly gone here" and he has heard a person could earn in a day "as they could do here in a week".
