Description
Patrick's discharge papers give his age as 26, which means that he was born in or near 1858. He had enlisted on 11 July 1879. According to information in another letter, Patrick had emigrated in 1876 or 1877, when he was about 18 years old. His discharge papers described him as 5'7" in height, with blue eyes and dark hair and complexion. His occupation when he enlisted was "labourer".
