Title
Photograph of Peter "Phatch" Faherty manuring the ground.
Description
Photograph of Peter "Phatch" Faherty with a spade manuring a small patch of ground, Inishmore, Aran Islands. Peter stands to the right of the photo. He is turned toward the left. He bends his back, holding a shovel with both hands. His left hand grips the handle further down than his right. He wears a hat with a bobble, a dark jumper and grey trousers. Soil is thrown from the head of the shovel. In the left foreground ground has been dug up. Otherwise the ground appears rocky and flat. There is a dry stone wall in the background, with a low hill behind it on the left. Above is the vast sky.
