Letter to Jimmy Cleary, from his father, Tom B. Cleary, while the former is interned
Description
Letter to Jimmy Cleary, from his father, Tom B. Cleary, while the former is interned, undated 9August), circa 1922. The letter describes in circumspect terms the welfare of republican prisoners and the upcoming election, "there are great changes since you people were interned, you will scarcely know the country when you get out. You asked me one time about certain girls who were shot or wounded in Castlelambert. Well I think there is a trial about it this week but I ought not to say more." Discusses carousing at the Galway races, efforts to reorganise the GAA in Athenry and related family matters.
