Title
Photograph of a man throwing rye grass onto a roof for thatching.
Description
Photograph of a young man throwing up a bundle of rye grass onto the roof of a cottage for thatching, Inishmore, Aran Islands. In the left foreground, stands the young man, his left hand out in front of him. He looks up at the bundle of rye grass in the air, in the centre midground. Another young man, in the left background, sits with both feet on a rung of a ladder tied onto the roof, of the white washed cottage. He holds out his hands, ready to catch the bundle. Stone walls run on either side of the cottage. Looking at other photos taken at the same time and location suggesting that this photograph may be flipped. Perhaps the negative was developed from the wrong side.
