Description The Women's Studies Review (WSR) journals were published by the Women's Studies Centre (WSC) in NUI Galway. The WSC was founded in 1988 and the official inauguration was performed in March 1991 by the President of Ireland, Mary Robinson.
The seminar series began in the autumn of 1988 to provide a forum for those interested in or engaged in gender based research to share and discuss this work. Prior to this, such a forum did not exist in NUI Galway, and a number of people inside and outside the institution worked together to establish a space which would meet this demand.
