Title
Original handwritten drafts and final typescript of a letter from Brendan [Duddy] to Martin [McGuinness]
Description
Original handwritten drafts and final typescript of a letter from Brendan [Duddy] to Martin [McGuinness], again in praise for his and Gerry Adams's work since the suspension of the Northern Ireland Assembly. Stating that Unionism with its prevaricating strategy ought not deter them; likewise they ought not wait for Prime Minister Blair and Taoiseach Ahern but take the lead, which will set an example to all, and will help the Middle-East peace process as well. 'The historic moment will then be beyond Unionism.' (Handwritten drafts in Éamonn Downey's hand; first draft has paragraphs later omitted that emphasise how Tony Blair's need for a success could help the peace process.)
