Lee Letter
Title
C. Lee, New York, to [James Caulfeild, 1st Earl of Charlemont], 15 December 1777
Description
C. Lee responds to his Lordship's enquiry, that he is in good health and spirits, considering "for the sudden transfusion from constant violent exercise to restraine is trying to a mans constitution". [The letter was probably sent to one of Caulfeild's Dublin residences, Marino House or Charlemont House. The author is likely Charles Lee, English-born American military officer who served as a general of the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War and was a British prisoner-of-war from December 1776 to April 1778].
