Lyons Letter
Title
James Lyon, Balgan, to the care of John White, Marchent, Ballymoney, Ireland, 16 April 1825
Description
James Lyons writes to his unnamed cousin in Ireland seeking him and his sister to have courage and join their mutual friends and family who have already emigrated. He claims that of those who have travelled to date, few regret it and that for those who are industrious will succeed, including the poor labourers who enjoy much greater liberty than in Ireland. He notes that farmers and mechanics are increasingly taking courage and emigrating there. [Letter is poorly written and Balgan has not been identified].
