Bishop Conwell Letters
Title
Thomas Kelly, Columbus, Georgia, to Bishop Henry Conwell, Philadelphia, 7 June 1833
Description
Kelly has settled and invested in Columbia, Ga., and plans to build a Catholic church in summer 1834. Relates how he went to Ireland in 1831 and returned to the US with his brother Michael and family, who were also in Columbus. It appears that Kelly's family, and his cousin Mrs. Mallon in Philadelphia, were from Dungannon, County Tyrone, or vicinity.
