Title
Indenture of Bridget Boyle to Giles Knight of Bensalem, Bucks Co., near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 26 November 1819
Description
Bridget was the daughter of Hugh Boyle, "laborer," of Philadelphia. She was 9 years old, unable to sign her name, and was to be apprenticed to Giles Knight, farmer, until 24 July 1828, when she would turn age 18, in "the art and mystery of housewifery," allowed 15 months of schooling, and, at her term's end, given two suits of clothing, one of them new. Unfortunately, the indenture does not state the either Hugh or Bridget Boyle were Irish immigrants.
